Jim Loafman

Original Artwork, Realistic & Affordable

My name is James R. (Jim) Loafman; I was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on December 25, 1935.  I grew up on a farm and have always loved animals.  As a young boy I sat on a milk stool in the barnyard and sketched animals.  After high school I spent four years in the Air Force.  After being discharged from the Air Force, I attended and graduated from Central State College in Edmond, in 1962 where I majored in the Fine Arts and Education.  I also studied Art from the Minneapolis, Minnesota School of Art.  I taught Art, English and Literature in a Junior High School in Denver, Colorado for two Years.  After returning to Oklahoma I worked as a Technical Illustrator for the Government for almost seven years.  I taught Pencil Sketching and Oil Painting at Rose State College as an additional job.  I painted mostly Landscapes and have painted a variety of animals on consignment.  I have always wanted to paint a large variety of subject matter, including Western Scenes and Nostalgia and finally, about four years ago, after Retirement, I was able to devote all the time I wanted toward my goal.  I am now able to dedicate all my time to my first love, which is painting.  I have used many Medias, but prefer water mixable oils with acrylic and retarder.
